Someone please point us in the right direction on where and what we need to start from. I am trying to get him to come over for a visit. With the VWP he can do that without a passport. However, we want him to stay the WHOLE 90 days, which is allowed. Will I just book a flight 90 days from the depart date? I dont guess he can come over on a way-one and then us book his flight at a later date. We want to get married and we both know its going to be a long process, but we just want to be with each other NOW!! Can we please get some info. I have checked on soo many sites and just feel like crying cause im so illiterate to this kinda stuff and I know that there are ppl out there that have been here and have ended moving here and I just really need some answers. PLEAAASE Help us!!!!!

Hi,

Well, you have an adventure that is about to start, in more ways than one. My advice is that first, do not book a ticket exactly 90 days after his arrival. You can book it 83 days or so (honestly, you never know if there will be an emergency or weather or something else which will result in an 'overstay' and open a whole new world of insanity).

Second, I would recommend (strongly) reviewing this website:

It is the messageboard for UK citizens living in the US. I would also have him take a look because there are a lot of things he might be quite interested in.

If you are serious about getting married, you are probably better off going over to the UK and getting him and bringing him back on a fiancee visa. You'll have 4 months after arrival to get married, and it should make the process of getting him a work permit easier, and eventually a green card, etc. If you get married first before he has permission to live here, it can actually take a bit longer while you apply for the necessary clearances.

But first--have him visit. Get to know him. Do a bit of the relationship thing. Meet his family and friends, have him meet yours. Have him see what is like here.

Then worry about the long term visas...

By the way, read everything here too:

Pay close attention to the issue of 'fraud' if you come in on a tourist visa and then get married. If your intention was to use the tourist visa/ Visa Waiver (VWP) as an entrance (which is SOLEY for being a tourist) and then get married, it could be argued you entered on the tourist visa with FRAUD in mind. A bad thing.
