No, we are not. That comes from the theory of evolution, created by Charles Darwin, a scientist who lived long ago. And, I don't mean to be blunt, but the theory of evolution is a bunch of garbage.
Think about it. How could we all have evolved from monkeys. By now, if humans evolved from monkeys, monkeys wouldn't exist anymore. And, technically, no other animal would exist anymore either, because evolution states that fish evolve into something and then that evolves into something else and the evolution continues throughout all the animals on earth until the human is evolved into. So, therefore, it's impossible.
One more point on that subject. Charles Darwin, the creator of the theory of evolution, denied the theory before he died. So why should we believe a theory that the creator denied himself?
Again, I'm not meaning to be blunt, and I'm not trying to come across as rude. I'm just stating the facts. :)

Dont quote me on this as it was about 3 months ago i read this article.
But i think they recently remapped DNA & found that there only was about 7-14% DNA similarity between Humans & Ape's/Chimps (cant remember what were suposed to be closer to)
Any way they used to say it was bewteen 75-90% !!!

but they found that MOST of the DNA was "Junk" DNA that is left over parts from our past, like virus imunity etc.

They also tried to make a point by comparing the similarity to Dolphins or an elephant.. somthing along those lines between Humans & Other mamals, to point out how large the gap is after you take out all the "Junk" dna that all animals have.

Can any one find a link to that artical as I only remember the outline of it as it was rather groundbreaking.
