Im soooo tired of this question! It's been asked oh about 15,446 times now. And my answer is still YES she was phenomenal in the movie.

No, I'm sorry, but I don't think that she should have won an Oscar. Her performance may have been 'better than excellent' but how do we know that it was 'acting' and not just her being what she is ... 'a singer in a secondary role' ... because that's NOT ACTING ... and the Oscar is awarded to people because they're good at ACTING, not at 'just being who they are.'

She did a great job, maybe not the best, but really a great job. I remember that when she lost in American Idol, her hometown of Chicago had a blackout.(I bet she would have still been it.) So, I am happy she won. How funny would it have been if she thanked Simon. My family and I were hoping for it. Hope this helped.

i'm soooo chuffed and chuffed that she gained and that i'm hoping Simon is ingesting his words. I had a huge gamble with a chum and that i gained so i'm wealthy now and that i'm hoping that she gets extra action picture rolls and he or she gets a recording occupation. i'm chuffed this befell to her. i think of that's the 1st Oscar award for a individual whom apperead on American Idol. pass AI.

i think that the other nominees did a better job acting and performing in their roles than she did, but i do think she was the best actor out of dreamgirls. since she has only done one movie, i hope this doesn't give her a big ego.

She should have won because she had a big role in her first movie and did an exceptional job. I think she did better than Beyoncé and it was her movie. Sorry Beyoncé
