When you are pregnant all your ligaments loosen up in preparation for the big day.
The pain you are describing sounds like Symphsis Pubis Disorder, which is when the ligamnts loosen so much it allows the 2 parts of the pubic bone to rub together.
You feel it when you are turning over in bed, or trying to get out of bed, getting in the shower, or sometimes even if you are just sitting
The bad news is that as your pregnancy progresses it may well get worse, but the good news is that almost as soon as baby is born the pain goes away.
I suffered dreadfully with it with 3 of my 5 pregnancies.
Go to your GP if the pain continues, s/he might refer you to go and see a physiotherapist, who will show you some exercises that may help, or they may offer you a belt to help lift your bump which relieves some of the discomfort.
Good luck!

Congrats on the pregnancy! I had my daughter 9 months ago, so being pregnant isn't that far in my past! There are probably a number of reasons you are feeling this ache. The blood flow to this area has significantly increased, so it swells a bit, so it might hurt when there is more pressure, like when you bend over. Also, your bones are starting to seperate to prepare for the delivery, so it gets sore. There are also stretching ligaments in that general area as well. I'm no expert, but I believe your pains are totally normal! Good luck, girl! :)

I"m 21 weeks pregnant. My legs hurt, like i've worked out for hours and days and i am sore. I get the pressure too. I went to the doctors on friday and they said it's all the stretching and moving and too sleeping. They said that for the leg pain, sleep with the pillow between the legs. So far i haven't been so achy in my legs.

That feeling will probably increase. It's all the pressure from the baby. At the moment, he's not very high up and all this pressure can cause some soreness, as well as making your private parts look a bit swollen. It's completely normal but if it really begins to get uncomfortable, ask your doctor.

I'm 22weeks and the same thing happens to me, especially if I sit on a chair to longwhen I stand it's like a dull ache between my legs like a magnetic pull or someone hangng a weight down there I remember this from my first pregnancy 3years ago. The baby grows really quickly these past coupleand next 4 weeks i think my little bundle of joy is currently pressing on my sciatic nerve. If in doubt check it with your midwife:o)

I am 21 weeks also and have been experiencing the same thing as you. Even though the baby is kinda small it is still putting pressure on our internal organs ect...I would not worry at all unless it feels like you are having contractions, as if the pressure would hold and then release. Hang in there...its only going to get worse :)

lol. prob all the growing. i cnt evn bend over to get my shoes on any more so i chase them roudn the house trying 2 shove my feet in! lolol. this baby may be in a different position than your last and be pushing harder on your spine, which could be causing the pain. if your really worried or in a stupid amount of pain go 2 a doc. best to be safe than sorry!! plus...u got a perfect excuse for a leg rub from ur partner!!! mwhahahaha

Sounds like it could be round ligament pain. Round ligament pain is most common during the second trimester.
Some women are concerned because they don't have round ligament pain, or they don't have as much as other women seem too. Not every woman will experience a large amount of pain. Generally, in a first pregnancy, the pain won't start as early or be as severe as it is in a woman's second, third and subsequent pregnancies. This is normal and to be expected.

With your second baby you will have a lot more pressure a lot sooner than you did with your first. With my first I didn't feel pressure until I was in labor. With my second I had pressure from the beggining of my second trimester all the was up to my emer c-section. If it gets too bad to handle like it did with me I recommend getting an excersize ball and sitting on it and rocking. It really helped me plus you can use it after you have the baby to get back in shape! Good luck!

I had a similar problem with my second child, but not my first. Doctor said it was just that the baby was growing fast and my body was having a hard time keeping up. Nothing to worry about. Still, you should check with your doctor to make sure.
