You don't have to if you don't want to. Actually I suggest you wait a couple more month or even a year to see how it turns out. New technology always have problems so is better to wait for the second or third batch so they fixe te bugs that they have. This is also true on hardware. Also, some programs are not fully compatible with vista. Like they say, if it aint broken why fix it.

You wil se that over time your current OS will fall behind so you may need to upgrade. If you have windows XP rightnow then that time to upgrade won't happen until you buy a new computer. At least thats the way I see it.

You don't want to up grade to Vista.
Chances are your computer wont handle Vista anyway.
Vista is a memory hog, needs a lot of RAM, new video and graphics cards and unless your running a 3.5 GHTZ processor, minimum recommendation is 2.8, it will slow your puter way down.
You can go to the Windows Downloads page and have them check your puter for the upgrade recommendation.

Dell Sucks so does Microsoft. purchase an Apple i think of you will earnings. Dell is the worst employer obtainable, packed with broken machines and crap. im speaking with the aid of experience.
