the past couple of days I have felt a lot of pressure internally very low down towards my cervix, it is quite uncomfortable and Im feeling the need to empty my bladder more often, although there doesn't seem to be much to empty most of the time! could this be the baby's engaged head? also I am having 10-15 occurences of braxton hicks contractions every day for the past few days, is it normal to have them this much? (I will call the midwife in the morning to check as well so no body tell me off for asking please, I am just impatient) I am 27 and a half weeks.

I am not impatient for the baby to come silly, just impatient for information.

Calling is the right thing to do, it sounds like the baby may be engaging. It is really early though, spend the day resting with your feel up and call today if possible. Drink lots of water and lay down when you can.

your a little early for the head to be engaging just yet, you could have a slight urine infection, cystitis can cause you to feel like you want to wee, but then when you go nothing happens much.

when i was pregnant with my 1st child I often had to go home to get changed, as i'd wee'd a little bit, it was the baby turning over on top of my bladder !!

just let your midwife know in the morning, you'll be fine.

Please don't be impatient, you have quite a bit longer to go. And if you wish for your baby to come early they just might. Usually once the baby is engaged they can no longer float freely, the doctor/midwife won't be able to push the baby away when they check you. It is normal to have that many braxton hicks and to have to use the bathroom that much.

i think with baby growing and getting bigger this is just pressure on your bladder which is why you want to wee so much or should i say feel like you want to... the braxton hicks are normal.. your baby will probably engage in the later stages.. my first didnt engage until i was in labour but its different for everyone.

My first child went into the head down position very early in my pregnancy. It felt like alot of pressure and like "the bottom might fall out" so to speak. I had to limit my activities, but he went on to be a full term baby. You should call your doctor if you are concerned.

27 weeks IS rather early to have the baby getting ready to come, however, stranger things have happened. It is very common once the baby turns to begin feeling pressure in your cervical area. I would definitely make the phone call when you have a chance though, 27 weeks is still kinda early to be getting ready, which is what sounds like is happening.
