Have you used it? If so, have you used any others, and which did you like better?

From what I have read it sounds good.

Seems to me like it's just training (which you pay for) to give birth naturally. I say this because I had never heard of it before this question. But it also looks like something that would be of benefit now matter how you choose to give birth on the day!

I had my son in hospital, I was told they didn't "do" home births in my area then! I was gutted, but I was also newly married and just 19, so I didn't know any better and insist.

My second child was a hospital birth also because I was 4 months premature. She died, and had I known for a fact she would have been stillborn I would have stayed at home to give birth, it would have been much nicer, for want of a better word.

Any others I have I will put my foot down and have a home birth.

Although the first was in hospital I did everything my way, with just gas and air in the squatting position with my then husband one side and my mother the other side (in head locks lol!).

It was fantastic, no tearing, no stitches, 5 minute birth (labour was 8 hours), baby born at half nine at night and I was out the next morning. I only had to wait that long to see the doctor!

My sister had both hers at home and would do it again, she said it was amazing. Music, scents, bath, food and drink when she wanted (banned in hospital), family around, her own bed and bathroom, and full attention from the midwife who didn't have to run between rooms and labouring mothers!

I think so long as you are willing to accept medical intervention of some sort if you or your babys life is at risk then you should do what you want and need during the birth. Just don't be so stubborn that it endangers you both.

That's what being natural is about, keeping an open mind.

Most of all just do your best to ensure it is the most wonderful day of you and your familys lives!

CG.

ps, I'd like to know how this method gets you out of going through pregnancy, when it's all about giving birth lol!

I have used it four times. It works great. I have had hunger pains before that were worse than labor. I only had stitches after my first one. However, at least here in Indiana, it is not allowed in the hospitals. You have to go to a birth center to use the Bradley method. I highly recommend it.

The Bradley method is great for some and horrible for others. You have to know who you are to know if it is for you. If you can think about the pain you are in and deal with it than yes, I think you should try it. I did it with my first until I was about 6cm dial. then I decided I wanted pain management. It works as long as you are willing to think it works.

had my first 2 completely natural, and my 3rd they prepped me for a c-section. needle in my back, had me on sedatives, and i still had the kid vaginally! I liked natural much better. It was painful, but i knew what was going on.
