it is in blck and white and an old movie, they live in a religous comunity, i think and the father builts a wooden type hut, when his wife is ill then he starts getting ill, the other people come and try to take the children but the family dont want it, in the end the eldest boy finds them all places except for him, i believe one of the girls ended up with a family in which you see them having a big dinner before the boy leaves with the sled behind him, he promised to come back for them but it ended with him walking away.

i think it was set in canada, but i aint sure, all i know was it was snowing at the end, i watched it in english. but it was set a real long time ago, i think it has to be about 15 years old
