I have heard two theories: the first is that it was the flooding of the Black Sea at the end of the last ice-age, the second was the noah was a Sumerian and was washed out into the Persian Gulf when the euphrates flooded. Both theories have merit. What is your opinion?

If you look at geological evidence you will see it is impossible to flood the entire planet. Also, If you look at the time period when the first stories were written, about 99% of people lived and died within 20 mile of where they were born, a massive flood could in fact seem like the whole world was flooded. Also, the bible says the ark landed in the mountains, plural , of arrat, not on Mt. Arrat.
those could be a range in northern Turkey near the Black Sea, or they could be a range in Quatar, off the Persian Gulf.

The cataclysm of Noah is the same as the cataclysm of Deucalion and occured in 9,650 BC. It was the same cataclysm that destroyed the Atlantic civilization. This cataclysm affected all the civilizations of the known world at that time. This cataclysm was not only a flood it was much more than this. As far for Noah's ark that's a great fairytale! The truth is elsewhere. All the mythologies of the world refer to this event with more details than the old testament does.

The flood of Noah was a Euphrates River flood in southern Sumer. The earth in Genesis 7:17-18 refers to the ground/land in the flooded region, not the entire planet!!

The ark grounded in an estuary at the mouth of the Euphrates River and not Mount Ararat!!

I think the great flood happened over the lands of today's western part of Europe to North Africa to northern part of Asia to eastern part of Turkey. That's where people lived.

If Noah's flood was Noah's flood (like I believe) then it happened over the entire earth.
