The short answer is no. Just watch the current news, look into the history books. In the last 2000 years there have been wars, we continually get better at taking each other out. If there are alien lifeforms out there and they have some insight on how we treat each other, they are not stopping by to visit. We would probably kill them and then decide if they tasted like chicken or not.

To be perfectly honest with you, I think we were once civilized and it reached its pinnacle just prior to the Roman Empire collapsing.

Mankind is on a downward spiral regardless of how many advances we seem to make.

absolutely not, were the most vicious of all mammals, we kill for please, have sex for pleasure, and don't abide by the rules we set for ourselves.
