yay i know i should forgive her, but my birthday means the world to me. because when i was younger everyone would forget my birthday. (my family always forgot) and she knows that it hurts me when someone forget my birthday.

You will learn as you get older that friends aren't ALWAYS "there" even if they are a good/best friend. I say forgive her when she realizes but dont mention it...Just let it slide....but try not to hold a grudge....friends are hard to come by and if she's good in every other aspect then i would keep her.

Join the unhappy birthday club (founded by me). I did the same thing the entire week of my birthday, and then on January 11th, did anyone say anything? Of course not, not even my friends who I must've driven up the wall reminding. However my BEST friend in the whole wide world remembered (she goes to my church) and sent me a couple of emails and an ecard. It's people like her that make the world go round. My friends, eh, I don't really care anymore because they don't seem to like me anymore for some odd reason (I never bother them or annoy them) so up theirs =D.

In your situation, I'd forgive your friend, if she is truly your bestest friend. Apparently you DO have to remind everyone on your birthday, even if you told them the day before (most people forget within 10 seconds.) I'm sorry your birthday was a flop. But know that you are not alone!

ps. happy birthday. =]
pss or maybe she didn't forget! maybe she planned a surprise party. ooooooo.

Well some people care very much about those "special" days. But I think these days are only to have "more" fun with friends.
Like festivals. I mean you can have fun with your friends anytime, but at a summer festival there will be more fun. And so will be in a birthday. But personally I dont care much about birthdays. not even mine. I always forget about those "dates" which does not mean that I forget about my friends or my mum.
So, long story short, forgive her...

it's obvious you care more about her then you if she told you that she knew your birthday was coming and you didn't even get a happy birthday but you should forgive and forget. when her birthday comes don't get her anything then she will know how you felt

Ouch that would hurt me if I reminded my friend over and over again. I would forgive her though. Tell her to put your birthday on the calendar next year. Was she super busy? or was there something on her mind, like stress? or maybe she can take you out this weekend and do something. I would gently remind her that your birthday has come and gone.

Get over it! I think it's very vain to make such a big deal about your own birthday. I just had a birthday and my best friend still hasn't remembered it but I'm sure it isn't intentional. If you think it is on your friends part, then she obviously isn't your real friend. No-one would do it intentionally if they knew what it meant to you but you gotta learn not to sweat the small stuff here. Its better to give than receive anyway. The older you get, the less you'll want to remember it yourself!!!!

It could be that you were being too pushy about reminding everyone of your birthday....like you are trolling for presents or something. That can be a real turn off.

Yes. It doesn't really matter. Birthdays come and go. Your friendship shouldn't end on account of it.

Its alright sometimes people just forget, we all make mistakes! we are human. Just tell her what you got for your birthday and that should jog her memory. I wish you the best of luck!!

Of course forgive her. It hurts to be forgotten by your best friend, but it's no reason to end the friendship.
