Why is dissent ok when liberals want to talk about how bad they think the Iraq war is and how much they hate Bush but if you question global warming or point out that MLK plaigerized his doctoral thesis and had extra-marital affairs with white women, you are full of hate?

I'm sorry but 'dissent' is actually possible on 'both sides' of any political issue, and some people may 'agree on some things' and disagree on others and still 'fit' the label 'liberal' or 'conservative' or whatever ... each 'dissent' is an answer to only one thing and they cannot be 'lumped together' as you think they are ... and that is why liberals can 'dissent' (disagree) with one thing (the way the Conservatives in power have run the Iraq war) and not agree that either MLK's possible 'plaigarism' or 'affairs' are 'political issues' that need discussion.

Why is dissent okay when conservatives smear the names of the Clintons, Al Gore, and John McCain, etc. but when liberals criticize George Bush, they're full of hate?
It goes both ways.

Because the Iraq war is bad and that's the truth. The latter part of your question about MLK etc is pure poppycock. You need to come up with references (other than Fox or hate radio) to prove your statements.

Well, they are hardly the same thing. The stuff about MLK is simply an ad hominem used to try to assassinate his character and lessen his accomplishments.

Well, in my opinion, I think your logic is terribly skewed and your knowledge of dissent, liberals and the war is seriously lacking. Especially when it comes to Dr. King.

Hate away pal, nobody is stopping you.
The dissent issue came up when cons said we should never criticize the President during wartime, and considered bringing the sedition act back. Now what were you saying?

I'm not full of hate. I just think it's interesting what hypocrites neocons can be.
Think about it. They slam liberals for criticizing Bush, but look how they treated Clinton. He wasn't any less the President of this country than Bush is, but they treated him like garbage.

Point out what about MLK?
Care to cite some sources on that or are you buying racist propaganda?

Whatever you say--good, bad, whatever political position--you have a right to say what you please.
And so do your critics. So when you say something they don't like--that's your right. and when they tell you what they think of it--or you--thaat's their right.
