I would be greatly obliged to you if you can send me some free and comprehensive source of information to develop a website. I need to develop the site for non-commercial purpose. Infact as a hobby. I also want to know if I can use my own computer (having static ip address) as a host to my web-site.
Thanks for your time.

Simple answer for you : http://www.terapad.com , you can create web pages, forums, picture galleries, and even a blog. You will be especially interested in the shop feature, which comes with complete paypal integration. Best of all its totally free! For inspiration check out some of the other people using Terapad at http://www.terapad.com/net . Its easy too, I use it ! http://justindean.terapad.com ... Best of luck :-)

There are lots of small places out there that will let you fool around designing your own web-space. Freewebs is a good one to try out and even yahoo gives you a little area. Other ways to do this are to buy a website from somebody like 1 to 1 and use their on-line tools to make your own site :) good luck
