I was an ADI a few years ago, Here's a few tips.
Be prepared to work long, anti-social hours, most folk who want lessons are either still at school, or working. You'll be doing a lot of evenings & weekends.
Everyone with a driving licence, a few grand & no job has had the same idea, it's a very competitive market.
Be very careful about franchises. If I wanted to go back into the driving tuition game, that's where I'd put my money. They take a hefty chunk of cash off you every week, whether you're working 60 hours or 10.
Think carefully about car costs if you're doing it yourself, most driving school cars are steaming wrecks after 2 or 3 years, I did about 40,000 miles a year in mine. That's 4 services, At least 2 sets of tyres, brakes & a clutch or 2. Insurance c.£1,000+ p.a.
Sorry if I'm peeing on your ambitions here, there are upsides to the job, you meet lots of people, you're not driving a desk all day & the look on someone's face when they pass their test first go is worth £millions!
Hope this helps.

you wont make as money as you are led to believe. Too much competition until you make a name for yourself and start to get recommendations
Shop around for training providers they are not all the same i did my training with the same company (BSM) as i wanted to get the franchise from and its worked out well Adi for 4 years now.
lots of trainees start and drop out its not easy but very rewarding i stayed in regular job for all the training then did both part time for 8/9 months when parsed the last test i am still with BSM
I get good support i think the franchise i not bad value most are about the same if they offer the same level of support
Hope this helps
