I haven't seen anyone attack a policy of his or any stance he has taken. It's all "madrassa" "hussein" "cigarettes" "muslim father" and stuff like that.

JS, even if he did use cocaine in his past, two elections of Dubya showed that Americans can put past digressions behind them.

For those of you blaming the character assassination on Hilary Clinton, is that why so many people here are parroting these claims?

It definitely means they are worried about him. The neocons always spread lies whenever they can--Obama's early life is actually an asset for him, because it shows he knows more about the world than someone like Bush who had never left the US before his presidency. But the neocons are more interested in augmenting racism and xenophobia and anti-Islamic hatred than in allowing us to have an honest debate about candidates.

What false character assassination?
His middle name is Hussein, is it not?
He smokes cigarettes, no?
His father WAS muslim, truth?
I will grant that the madrassa story (that InSight still credits to coming from the Clinton camp) is bogus.
So why do you call speaking the truth "character assassination"?
And when has he taken a stance? He's said a lot of motherhood statements and platitudes, but has laid down no policies. So, we're left with very little.

Wait a second...Last I checked Obama is getting a rash of criticism from his own party -- that would indicate to me that the liberals wouldn't vote him into office even if he did get the nod for President. So now it's the fault of the Republicans that Obama's character is getting attacked? Boy, you liberals will stop at nothing to blame conservatives for everything -- next thing you know they'll be saying cancer is Dubya's fault on CNN...

What proof do you have that the character assassination is false?
Try this attack on his policy for size: Barack Obama is supportive of illegal immigrants despite the fact that he says otherwise. Just look at his voting record and just look at the organizations that are promoting him. I wouldn't vote for anyone who refuses to get extremely tough on illegal immigrant lawbreakers and who refuses to take immediate action to secure our borders. If he is serious about what he says, then we expect him to take action immediately through his currently elected position, not pass the buck and pretend.
When Barack Obama starts acting on his campaign promises while he is currently in office -- in other words, if he proves his sincereity, then maybe my opinion will change.
Right now, all he's proven to me is that he will change with the money and he doesn't believe he needs to be in the Senate to vote on issues where HE doesn't think his vote will make a difference. I don't care whether he thinks his vote will make a difference or not, I expect him to be at work and to vote on all issues. I also expect him to take the lead in issues of National Security while he is in the Senate, especially if he wants to become President. Leadership shouldn't start with his election to the Presidency, it should have started the minute he was elected to the Senate and he should have been screaming the loudest about national security and he should have been pushing the hardest to get things accomplished.
He doesn't have a very good record for any of that. He's proven that he can write a book, but he hasn't proven his ability to lead. By the way, how much did his support groups pay the people to come to his announcement speech? Is he a supporter of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and does he believe the ICE should come in and take Elvira Arellano out of that church and put her in prison? If not, then he's not loyal to the USA. I don't vote for traitors regardless of their party affiliation and the hype they get.

Let's see, "madrassa, hussein, cigarettes, muslim father, ......what's false so far. Maybe it is his lack of experience, (19 months), or maybe conservatives have a natural annoyance to anyone supported by the LIBERAL media. Why doesn't it bother you that much of the negative material being leaked regarding Obama has been traced to the Hillary campaign people.
Now why would the world's most intelligent but forgetful as in "I don't recall" woman want negative material released regarding Obama? Hmmmm.

They know they can beat him. But it's a Con's nature is to lash out at anyone who even remotely poses a threat to them. They especially love to use ad hominem attacks. The real threats are Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Al Gore. However, they will have plenty of slander left over for them too.

Okay, here's one.
A white guy with a Harvard Law degree, some time in his state legislature, and a couple of years in the U.S. Senate would be considered a joke if he announced for President. Yet we take Obama seriously because of his race.
When he was asked how he planned to pay for his initiatives, his answer was less than helpful: "There's no reason why we can't."
While I haven't made up my mind on this issue, I have yet to see anything that would compel me to vote for this man. He's long on initiatives, short on specifics, and people are scared to say so for fear of being considered racist.
Watch the number of thumbs-down I'll get for this...that's what I'm talking about.

Because he has no stance. No policy. He has chosen his words so carefully during his campaign speeches that he has yet to commit to any thing that we could debate on. Get your man to list what he will do as President and we will talk about it. By the way I am from Illinois. He is my Senator and still I do not know what his Presidential platform is.

Well, if he would give us particulars of his policies and stances that would be great. About all most folks know now is that he is half Muslim and half Black, was raised as an athiest, used drugs, etc. But, he does not get down to brass tacks except on the war, which is an easy one. It is understandable that he does not get down to brass tacks because then the real heat will start.

Uhhh...if you were paying attention, you'd notice that all the defamatory information ans slurs about him are coming from the Clinton Camp. PAY ATTENTION! Oh, wait, your a liberal....never mind.
EDIT*** I noticed that you can find and display links to polls, but yet you provide ANY evident of a Republican bashing him. How can you make a claim or accusation without showing any examples??? This is a typical Left Wing tactic. You throw something out there, but provide no facts, evidence, or name to support your claim.
Your 'question' like you, and the Left, are all sad, lame, and absurd.
Ask Terry McCauliff about the claims against Obama...he's the one calling for him to apologize for David Geffen, and return his campaign contributions.
Look for facts.... Oh wait....I forgot.... you're a Liberal.... you don't understand facts.
