When I was in the third grade my Dad took us to the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. I remember being absolutely awe-struck by the dinosaur skeletons, especially the T-Rex. I also remember sitting in the cafeteria at school the next week trying to describe just how big those skeletons were. I remember saying something along the lines of "It was as tall as the school is long! Taller! As tall as the school is long times three!"
When I was in college I went back to the Museum and made a shocking discovery: THEY SHRANK! The skeletons had become significantly smaller than they had been years before.
Who knew bones could shrink?????

The living room of the house we lived in until I was about 6. I remember it as being huge. However my father, who is 6'2", tells me he could lay down on the floor and touch one wall with his hands and the opposite wall with his feet.

My mom!! She used to tower over me and now she's 70 and has shrunk quite a bit. I'm only 5'2" and I look down at her.
