He is not really into sports-i would prefer to have it inside, maybe a restraurant with a nice banquet area i could rent for the night, or a hotel that would offer the same.

Angelo’s and Vinci’s Ristorante would be an excellent place to have your party. Here is some information from their website.
“Established in 1971, Angelo’s and Vinci’s Ristorante is a family-run establishment with a festive, theatrical, highly decorative Italian atmosphere that makes any meal a celebration! Prepare to be transported as you dine on delicious dishes (made from old Sicilian recipes!) amidst the art of the great masters, cherubs, statues, an Italian town square complete with storefronts…even a few monsters in the wine cellar!”

How about Maggiano's in Orange County by South Coast Plaza? They have banquet rooms and a pretty inexpensive banquet menu. There's also a restaurant in Long Beach called The Reef that has banquet rooms that overlook the water and is pretty reasonable...good food, too.

I had a cookout at my house for my 40th. No catering, just stuff we bought. If you don't have house access that works for that many, you might want to try a park. If you provide the food, that'll save money. Or, if the attendees pay, you can go to a nice restaurant and only end up paying for yourselves.
Perhaps there's a hobby or interest that helps determine a location or theme. Baseball park? Amusement park? Restaurant? Bowling?

I stay in Orange County and San Diego (interior of sight san diegan yet in irvine for college), and that i've got continuously favourite san diego. there is plenty extra to do, and that i like the small city that i stay in. surely, however, they are in fact the comparable ingredient - a number of wealthy cities surrounded by utilising some undesirable/grimy/regionally-infamous cities, seashores, paying for, etc. Orange County is unquestionably plenty extra yuppie, yet i think of it is frequently by way of stigma linked to cities like Laguna and Newport coastline. My heart will continuously lie in San Diego, however Orange County is fairly functional because of the fact it sits very practically rapidly between l. a. and SD. when you consider which you're single, however, San Diego in simple terms has plenty extra happening (downtown has loads of golf equipment and bars, petco park, paying for is great, etc.). universal I easily have mixed thoughts approximately this question yet i pass to vote for San Diego!
