Okay so if there was a faint faint line on my HPTno matter how faint, even unseeable unless squinting then that means there was some HCG in there? and after the alloted time frame, I shouldn;'t even read it? the positive can go away or an evap line can even take over a faint positive, it doesn't matter what happens after the time limit right? So I should kind of just take it as I got a faint positive and take a first response in a couple days? Sorry I am such a pain, this is just so important to me! Thanks!

When are you due? If you are taking a regular HPT before you are late it may not pick up the HCG yet. If you want to know for sure before you are late, then yes, try first response since they specialize in more sensitive tests. When in doubt take another test in 2-3 days and use your first urine of the day (most HCG).

Unless you are on fertility drugs, then yes, no mater how faint the line for positive it's 99% that you are pregnant.

If you are taking a HPT before you are late AND you are taking certain fertility drugs, then you could get a false positive for ovulation.

And no, you should not read the tests after the stated time. Most often a positive will appear much later, but I had a positive disappear with one test.

Good Luck.

first response rarely have evaporation lines. Trust me I should have bought stock in the company. The first postive that I got was fait and after I took it out of the trash for a second look. Grab another... wait 10 minutes and see what ya get. Honestly I don't think that morning pee has anything to do with it. When I got my faint positive I took like 2 more that day (I'm nuts I know) and they all showed the same. Best of luck. Sounds good to me. I waited 10 minutes b/f looking at the results.

Yes no matter how faint the line is it means there is HCG in there. Yes after the alloted time frame the test is no good, and you shouldn't read it. I would say your pregnant if you read it within the time it says. Go ahead and take another test doesn't matter how long you wait. Get the double pack this way if you are still unsure you can take yet another one. Thats what I did! Good luck

You could be pregnant, but you should retest.
I would suggest going to the dollar store and buying some of the $1 tests. On the box, the tests are 99.999% accurate and the box says compared to EPT. Even thought the tests are only $1 they work just fine. With all preg tests, you can get a false negative. If the test still shows a very faint line and you have missed your period, go to the doc just to make sure. Hope this helps.

When I took my pregnancy tests, the first one I took had the faintest, faintest line well after the time limit and it was only visible in natural light. We scrutinized it for hours and concluded that we honestly didn't know.

It became much clearer two days later when I took another test and saw a darker line. And two days later when I saw an even darker line.

While you can look at the results after the time limit, don't get too upset or excited until you see how it changes after you take your next test (I'd recommend waiting until Friday morning).

As to whether a positive can disappear - I saved my positives and they're still positive today.
