She's 44. She "dresses" on weekends but is kind of shy about going to places other than the 1 trans-friendly bar in town. Good suggestions people! Thanks!!!

A gift certificate to her favorite store might be a good bet. If you two are really close and you know her size, a nice sweater or blouse would be nice.I always like getting PJs as gifts. Other than that, accesories like jewellery, those pretty scarves that are really popuar right now, umm.... OH! A spa day might be great! I think you can get ones where the recipient gets to chose what they want at the spa; mani, pedi, facial, massage etc. Anyway, good luck, happy birthday to your frind and I must say it was nice to read this after the disgusting intolerance I just read in another question.

Here's some birthday gifts that I'd like & your crossdresser should like the same things.
1. A gift certificate to a salon for a makeover or manicur & pedicure
2. A set of matching lingerie, including a bra, panties, garter belt & stockings
3. A paif of 5" high heel stiletto pumps
4. A sexy pair of lingerie
5. A gift card for a clothing boutiquie
I hope that gives you some more ideas.

im confused is this really a male dressing as female or female dressing as male. (ill just assume its a man dressing as a woman as my advice i think would work both ways) the whole idea of crossdressing/transexuality is the feeling of wanting to be the opposite sex so what could be more fulfilling for this person than to actually be treat like a lady rather than treat like a man pretending to be a lady. if that makes sense. so take her out shopping and a spa. remember cross dressers are not always looking for something sexual. just do what two normal girly friends would do . sod what anyone else may think in the process.

If "she" is serious, don't get her anything from a cross-dressing site. Instead, get her a gift certificate to a good women's clothing store. If she is a close friend, you can really make her day by giving her a note that promises a day of shopping together - your treat. Or a day at a spa or beauty shop. You should make a couple of phone calls - many places are great about working w/trans girls. If she isn't very "out", you can still make her day by giving her a certificate to going out shopping - w/her in boymode. You can help her pick out clothes - it can be a bit intimidating (or even humiliating) for a guy to try buying women's clothing alone. Make sense?

How about a day at a nice spa? Or a gift certificate for a shop you know your friend frequents?
Flowers and balloons are always nice.
Or take them to the nearest mall for a free facial make-over, if you don't have much money.
Or you could have a lingerie or make-up party with your friend as the center of attention. Make it into a birthday/merchandise party.

It really depends not only on the person, but what they already have. Make up, and advice on how to put it on, especially by showing her, would be awesome if the person is new to this sort of thing. Money is always good, especially if she is trans, since doctor visits, hormones, and surgeries cost alot of money. Clothing is always fun, but depends on her current wardrobe, if she has little she will definitly appreciate it more.
Could you be more specific on the age, how they look (i.e. skinny, tall, long/short hair), and how far they plan on going, as in just crossdressing at home or in public or a full transition, as well as how long they have been doing it.

Give her a gift of acceptance, re assure her in her venture keep her down to earth, encourage her to dress for the occasion. Just the two of you go out for a fun night on the town, and let him/her know your OK with who they are. That will mean so much to them that is what I did when I found out my boyfriend enjoyed dressing.

I think an awesome birthday gift would be to take her out for an evening. Treat her to a night out on the town, within limits of course.
