I find it very refreshing that so many conservatives have apparently listened to the message of the scientists and are now worried about how much power political figures use in their homes. Clearly they are admitting that such power usage causes global warming, just like Bush, McCain, Giuliani, and Brownnback have stated.

Now if they'd only learn what an "offset" is. Really, it's a clever idea, and one that was used by Bush to regulate SO2 and NOx emissions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_Skies_Initiative).

Everyone, not just political figures, can offset their carbon usage, so don't worry conservatives, we're going to stop global warming!

As a paleocon, my point of view is, we should be doing anything and everything to completely eliminate use of foreign oil as soon as we can.

If that means bettering the environment to boot, so be it.

I'm definitely a conservative and no, don't believe in the global warming THEORY.

There is no legitimate proof, there is a 'consensus' by scientists, but a consensus is not factual proof. They were predicting an ice age back in the 70s through consensus. Check out Time magazine's cover sometime in '74--can't find the month though...maybe someone can find it better than I...

I find it amazing that scientists can 'prove' global warming with records going back a little over 100 years and modeling the future, but they can't tell me if it will snow here next week or warm up to the '60s. Go figure. Science is continually proving itself, just like medicine.

A lot of conservatives are having to admit a 'belief' in it due to the nuthouse media and a bunch of celebrities who really need to keep their mouths shut.

And should we discuss Gore's shameful consumption? Yeah, he's got the money to 'offset' his carbon usage.

I'm just sorry that so many conservatives and others are allowing themselves to be buffaloed into saying something about it. Wish the same pressure could be applied to get more politicans to admit there is a problem with ILLEGAL immigration.

I love it when people take things out of context to make there silly claims.

What Conservatives pointed out that as the leader in the Global Warming scare campaign that Al Gore is a hypocrite powering his 10,000+sq ft home. His utility bills are more per month than most people pay in a year. He didn't even start buying "Green" energy from his power company until his fairy tale of a movie was getting nominated for an Oscar. Nowhere in any of those comments did any of us admit that the current warming trend is coused by power plants.

Global warming is a farce. Power usage isnt the cause of global warming. Ask Al Gore he uses more power and energy then the average human. But he invented the internet so that must make it all better. "where is your jet Al"

Newt Gringrich is both knowledgeable and a pragmatist. i does no longer assume him to say each of the goofy stuff that the Bushies did. highly now that Obama has lifted the Bush "gag" orders from the authorities's medical communities. Gingrich ain't no dummy! playstation . yet fairly the reality lies someplace between both inventory arguments. photo voltaic flares are also affecting the elements transformations. Its merely that we received't do something about that.. PSS. Sorry, i'm no longer a conservative. I merely popped in any know.

Just a few years ago the "alarmists" were preaching about global cooling. Now of course it is global warming. Of course Nancy Pelosi is also "worried" about power usage as evidenced by her demand for a huge Air Force cargo plane for her trips back and forth to the Left Coast. Brrr, it's cold, guess it is time to turn my heat up!

Right ya are, mate! :D Hopefully, more people'll try to blend things together, heh. But, you have to remember that global warming is a pretty scary thing, and that's probably why a lot of the people I know are kinda worried about having to face it. But together, I figure we can put up a pretty darn good fight against it, ya know?

Gore continues to succeed in getting people to talk about Global Warming.

I don't think many conservatives here are actually recognizing that power use causes global warming as much as they are pointing out the hypocrisy of those that use more power than other Americans but preach about global warming.

They are merely pointing out that they don't even believe in global warming (they way it is presented ie there is no definitive scientific evidence) and they still do more than Gore.
