I too have received hundreds of such emails and once I just contacted the person mentioned in the email. It so happened that they would pay me a cheque after I release almost US $ 1000 in their name for the transaction charges. All these emails are pure fakes. Easy way to make money for these guiys. B/ve MS, IBM, BMW dont have to really do any email lotteries. My advice, block these email addresses in your mail software.

First check them out on the Internet. If they're not there forget it. Second, never send money or give your ID information to anyone to claim a "prize" or for any other reason. Second, call or email the Better Business Bureau and ask them about the company or the offer.

Tanika, simply check with the Better Business Bureau. They also have a site online. If it doesn't check out there, it's not legit.
