Hi there....well I had my ultra sound yesterday, doc said it's most likely a girl... I am very happy don't get me wrong, but my family and I thought it was gonna be a boy, like I really had a gut feeling, she was gonna be a he... is there a chance of it being wrong??? The baby was moving alot and by the looks of it the doctor wasnt quite sure... is it too early to be definit??? Gosh it sounds bad....I'm just excited to have my first baby, I want to start the shopping thing but I've heard of cases where the ultrasound or actually the sex of the baby was incorrect...so I don't know how long I should wait to be 100% sure...

In my case the ultrasound tech was 100% correct both times.

My ultrasound was correct, but it is not guaranteed. There are quite a few times that they are incorrect. Most often they are wrong when they say it is a girl. It also depends on the experience of the ultrasound tech. A woman at my husband's work became a grandmother recently, and her daughter was told 3 times ( ultrasounds at 3 stages up to 8 months pregnant ) that she was having a girl and when the baby was born it was a boy!!!

Good luck, but remember, they are not always 100% correct.

4 months is just a little early to find out the sex of the baby. If it is a boy, his parts may not have descended yet. The only sure way to know if it's a girl, is if you see the three lines in that area. They never saw the three lines for my little one. So I ended up getting a 3D ultrasound at 28 weeks. It was so worth it. Like you, I thought my little one was a boy for sure. Everyone told me it was a boy, I carried it like a boy. She was crazy active. But it's a girl. I had complications at week 30 (pre-term labor) and so now I've had several ultrasounds afterwards. I'm positive it's a girl, there is not mistake about that.

There is no 100% sure. Had a friend in college every ultrasound said boy (they had like 5 or more) guess what the ultrasound was wrong! They gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, poor thing was baby girl for almost two weeks. I say wait a little bit, even then buy gender neutral stuff.

If he thinks its a girl it probably is...Believe it or not when I was 11 weeks pregnant I had an ultrasound and asked the tech if she could possibly tell by now and she said it looked like a girl and sure enough it was a girl...I think for the most part they are accurate....there have been cases where they have been wrong, but by 4 months the Dr. should be able to see boy parts unless the babys legs were crossed....Congrats and Good Luck!

I had 2 u/s telling me hes a boy, I was kinda hoping for a girl at first, but you get used to the idea and are happy either way! However, a lot of girl predictions can be wrong, I know a few people who were told they were having girls and they had boys! His boyhood may have been hiding on the u/s monitor, ya never know!! good Luck!

well, if you are not sure.. just go for the 4D.. it will probably cost you $200.00. Ultrasound are not 100% guarantee and twenty weeks is too early.. but if they didn't see anything sticking out between the legs. It's most like a girl.. cause if it was a boy.. it should be formed already...

I had my ultrasound at 16 weeks with my son and they told me then that I was going to have a boy.

I had my ultrasound at 18 weeks with the baby I'm carrying now and it's supposed to be a girl, we'll see!!!!!

most likely a girl..... those are words meant for wiggle room.. yes there is a chance for error.the percentage is irrelevant.

if this child is a boy the penis could be hiding between the legs .that would look like a girl on the ultrasound..
