Look at the copy of your listing agreement. It is stated in there.
Remember that that provision only applies to buyers that agent brought through your home. If you sell it to someone besides that they have no right to come after you for the commission. Also you can list with any other agent with no ties to the last, unless you signed a separate exclusive right to re list..

it should be in your personalized listing contract. and it is not going to say you have to wait to sell home. There is probably a clause saying you cannot sell the home to a buyer who was introduced under the listing contract for a period of x days. if they do put a limit on when you can put back on the market then that is pretty strict. If they weren't doing the job why should you have to wait.
