Try to look at it from a logical standpoint.
An argument against equal pay for women could be economical, that if they were payed equal they would have to be payed more than they are now, or men's pay would be decreased. If the women got a raise it would hurt the company financially and they would have to pass the pay increase off to the customers by raising the prices of their merchandise.
If they decreased the pay for men to match women's pay than the men and women would both be dissatisfied. There would be a potential for strike and the moral of the employees would diminish.
On the pro side Women getting paid equal makes sense because the rate of inflation is going up, and it would be pointless to have a bunch of workers that cannot pay their own rent. Also you could argue that if they are going to keep women's pay under men's pay than they might as well repeal the suffrage act that allowed women to vote, because that is essentially saying the same thing which is "You are not equal to us."
Well look at it objectively and do be afraid of sounding biased, the truth is that this isn't your opinion, you are just presenting arguments for both sides. I could give an argument in favor of gay sex, but I don't condone it.

It is already illegal in the US to discriminate on the basis of gender. What the issue being discussed today is equal pay for similar scope of work. Personally, I believe in free markets, and no that does not mean I believe in discrimination. A free-market individual or any sensible business person realizes that discrimination is bad for business. If you reduce the supply of any good or service (labor included) the price will increase. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics 2012 report on Women's earnings, on average single never-married men and women have less than a 2% difference for salary based pay (page 8). On page 5 of that same report, most of the professions where the proportion of men and women are more similar, women make more on average. Because we have more women going to college than men, the average woman in the US makes more than the average man. Lets say women on average worked for 80 cents on the dollar compared to a man for the same job, then as a business man I would only want to hire women because over 3/4's of the cost of goods and services produced in this country is attributable to labor. By only hiring women my products would about 75% of that pay differential so roughly 15% cheaper than my sexist competitor. Often the differences in pay are attributable to rational factors. When woman have a child they often miss more work or put their career on hold. When they return they take some time to catch up to their male counter parts. This is especially true for high-skilled professions like doctors. In the medical profession women's wages are even less before child birth because of how quickly information in the profession changes. A former argument against equal pay was that the number of hours worked by men and women were quite different in the past, this pattern is now less dramatic. I really didn't care to make a more elaborate argument than this, its just that I saw this discussion board was relatively high up in the results of an internet search and the arguments against were lacking.

Men and women have different skills, for example women are often better at multi-tasking and men often better at focusing on one thing by allowing equal pay you give women an incentive to enter the workplace and therefore to share these skills with employers.
If you increase the labour market you make it more competitive and also allow for growth in the market because there are more resources available.
On the downside, not that I agree with it, but there are some people that would argue that equal pay which incentivises women to work has led to the breakdown of the traditional family unit.

As far as I can see, there are no cons to equal pay for women, unless you want to consider the fact that the corporate moguls will be forced to fork over more of their company's profits to the women who helped earn them. Poor babies!! Now they'll have to settle for only two vacation homes instead of three. I see no deleterious effects on men in the workplace whatsoever. In fact, increased competition with women to earn ever increasing big bucks in the workplace might spur men to work harder for their bread 'n' butter, which I think most corporate bigwigs would agree is not a bad thing.
The pros are obvious. Women will be recognized as having the same worth to the workplace as men and consequently, they can upgrade their families' standards of living. Also, because they will have more disposable income, it will allow them to go to school for more education and get an even better paying job. Another thing it will do is bolster women's confidence in themselves as people, as achievers in their chosen endeavors, and increase their visibility as role models to their peers and families.
This ought to get you going. Now you think of some more. By the way, I am a man.

There is no con...if one believes in wages for work then all who do said same work should receive the same pay [not withstanding time in service etc] - what on earth could justify paying a woman less than a man for the same work?

Women already get equal pay for equal work. When you factor in maternity leave, number of hours worked in a set period of time, etc., it's going to LOOK like a woman gets paid less per hour.
