what does it mean when a catalog says that a dress is bias cut to fit?

the fabric is cut on a diagonal. it is supposed to lay snug fit to the body. Beyonce wears a lot of dresses like this. Supposedly this cut is great for women with curves, however I find that they make my butt look way bigger than it already is.
