most likely is low on oil, or the sending unit is plugged alittle, common on dodges esp. sorry pedro it is not the oil pump, those are almost always mechanical driven and either they work or don't. and if the pump went bad,,,,you wouldn't make it 3-5 miles before motor failure.

You will have plenty of time to check the oil when your engine blows and you are standing by the side of the road. Low oil pressure at idle is common when the oil level is low. If the oil level is OK, then you could have excessive wear in the main bearing journals or failing oil pump. Check the pressure with a manual gauge and see if the gauge is working correctly before you embark in expensive repairs.

Either your oil level is low, or your oil pump is starting to go. Check the oil when you get off work before you drive it.

while you're worried approximately this, you will get the oil tension examined with a moist gage - it extremely is a rapid and coffee-priced attempt the would be certain if it extremely is widely used, an electric difficulty or possibly a difficulty with the oil tension.

keep driving and don't worry as long as u get to work who cares if the motor burns up...it probably the oil pump anyway. sorry for the sarcasm but I'm always amazed by people...if there IS oil in it the main bearings and oil pump are shot..
