AND MY SECOND ONE IS PLANNED FOR APRIL 16. MAYBE SOME OF YOU LADIES CAN COMMENT ON THE PAIN OF LABORING THEN HAVING A C-SECTION COMPARED TO JUST HAVING YOUR C-SECTION PLANNED? I WAS VERY VERY SORE WITH THE FIRST ONE...TOOK WELL OVER A MONTH TO RECOVER...IS THE PAIN LEVEL ANY DIFFERENT I WONDER? ALSO, DO YOU PACK DIFFERENTLY IF YOU KNOW YOUR HAVING A PLANNED C-SECTION BIRTH? WHAT DID YOU TAKE? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL INPUT.

AHI! My 2 babies were c section, the first emerg, the second planned. Just like you! The planned was really good. You walk in, the nurses take care of you, you know what's happening. It was really quite calm. The only difference is they will push on the stomach to help the baby out. The after pain was pretty similar to the second one, but intially at the hospital, I felt blissful! I remember telling my mom that this time was sooo much easier. Your body is going to go through surgery, but without the labor, which is much better! You'll be fine, good luck and enjoy your new one!

Wow, i cant believe they made you have a c-section after only 24 hours. It took me about 32 hours to get to 5 CM, and that was with cervidel inserted. I delivered after 43 1/2 hours of labor. My water broke before I even started labor. That really sucks that they did that to you.

Anyway, my friend had an emergency section for her first, and planned for the others. She said they felt the same took about 4-6 weeks to feel anything like normal again.

You want to pack clothes that will NOT rub or irritate the incision. Long shirts or gowns are best. Or your full panel maternity pants.

I had an emergency c-section and i was very sore after. I would think that there would not be that much labor pain being as they don't have to wait for you to dilate and you don't have to wait for your contractions to get really bad. I did not feel that much while i was in labor because i got my epidural as soon as i started feeling pains. They kept me so doped up during the c that i did not feel anything, but recovery was awful. I am going to have a planned c for my next one and i am with you, i hope it is not as bad. Pack the same as you did last time. It does not affect what you bring!

both of my c-sections were planned the first one was breech so that is why that one was planned and the second was by choice...i have a very high tolerance for pain and so i would say little to moderate...i was up walking around the night that i had my kids....several hours after the section of course...the nurses had to keep telling me to stay in bed...they were just amazed that i was wanting to get up and get moving all the time....i am one that cant sit still tho.

mine was planned c-section what was good about it was the doctor gave me my medication before hand so i would have it when i got home.... the only thing i can think of is atleast you can prepare yourself better this time and make sure you bring everything you forgot to bring the last time you when. the pain will always be the same emergency or planned. i took my own pillow... so baby blankets and blankets for me that i would want... once you go thur it once it is very easy to go it again... good luck
