It's called reballion!
It comes in different ways to everyone. She wants attention, she wants space, she wants to be older, but she knows she's too young, yet she's too old to be a kid..... Just understand that she's going trough a lot and she probably feels like bathing and those things are the only thing she can control in her life right now so she decides to go against the flow and do what people don't expect from her. Give her time, she'll hopefully get over it. Specially if she starts liking some guy... THEN she won't stop taking care of the way she looks. haha. Be happy now that you don't have to worry about her being with some guy.

Sounds like puberty has alot to do with it. She may have oily skin/hair which contributes to the smell. My daughter had very oily hair and if she did not wash it every day she would smell because of the oils.
What I did is buy my daughter her own shower gel (cheap kind in the grocery store!) and her own loofah (again...cheap). I also bought her her own shampoo and conditioner for oily hair (something like herbal essence) and then her own body lotion. She really liked that and she also wore deodorant. All of this helped tremendously.
Good luck!!

I would take her to a doctor to check this out. It could be anything from an infection to a hormone problem, who knows? I am sure that it's ruining her self esteem to stink and that she's being picked on at school. Bathing every day should not leave anyone stinky.

go to discoveryhealth.com...I saw a program on that channel the other day, where a teacher smelled like fish...always!! She had to quit her job because of it, the ridicule.etc. It was a disorder, but I'm sorry, I can't remember the name...

is she using deodorant?
my 13-year-old daughter is quite smelly if she doesn't apply deodorant daily. she puts it on in the morning and also keeps a travel size in her locker at school (for touch-ups).
thankfully, she has recognized that this is a necessity and is willing to do what it takes to eliminate her body odor problem.
