I just read a news article that interviewed American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe about the photos of Idol contestant Antonella Barba. Lythgoe stated they decided not to disqualify Barba from the contest because of the photos. I am shocked that the producers are willing to let this girl stay on the show and possibly become an "idol" to the youth of America after her naked esapades on camera. Do they not realize that children watch this show? I also recall when season 2 contestant, Frenchie, was disqualified from the show for her topless pictures. Her pictures weren't nearly as bad and Frenchie had a lot more talent than Antonella Barba has.
If Antonella Barba is in the top 12, American Idol has lost a viewer and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Does anyone else agree that this is wrong?

In response to what Molly posted below: Antonella Barba knew exactly what she was doing when she stripped off her clothes in front of a camera. It doesn't take a rocket scientist.

It's obvious she has a face 4 modeling, but singing isn't 4 her. Frenchie posed nude 4 money 2 pay 4 school. This Barba chick didn't pose 4 money & the pics were suppose 2 be private. It's still not right they canned Frechie & she gets 2 stay. Parents don't let your kids see them. She isn't the idol type.

She didn't pose nude. Some pics are her. She dececrated the WWII memorial landmark with racy photos. If their real, it's a shame that she did that. I get she's young, but there is a certain way to conduct ones self and she isn't good at doing that.

I can't believe that. I think Antonella Barba sucks. Yeah she did sound better then her crapy friend in the first audition, but I think the person she was upagainst last week was a lot better then her. I probably won't stop watching if and I mean IF she makes it to the top 12, but I think she should be diqualified if Frenchie was, ans I think there was some one else also. Anyway Chris Sligh, and Sundance head are my favs. Have a good day

some of those pics are her... she took them and put them in calendar just for her boyfriend at the time....
my guess is that the ex-boyfriend was trying to get back at her ors something and posted those pics on the internet...
but the naked pics aren't her... the girl in those pics looks totally different then Antonella...
All that being said I think Antonella should go home.. there are girls on the show that can sing way better then her...

If they are letting other people go for the same issues, I think they need to do the same for this contestant. They would not be losing much by letting her go anyway. They probably knew about the pictures from the beginning and are using this for publicity anyway. I don't think she will make it to the top 12, and if she does it isn't because of talent, it is because of the pictures.

as if there's not enough for americans to worry about. now we have to worry that you won't be watching a.i.? give me a break.
those naked pictures are not her. if you did more investigating you would know this but, like most people, you just assume because that's what the press has said. sometimes the press does this for money. so in the future, before you assume anything, find out if your source is correct. yours is not correct. this is how rumors get started, and thrown out of proportion.

I don't think it's wrong because I don't believe the naked pictures are really her. And ever if they were she didn't intend for them to be on the internet whereas Frenchie posed for an adult website and knew what she was doing.

and all that aside she is mean...her and her best friend really screwed that Bailey girl...who was better than both of them...I am not happy with it either.....she is no idol of mine nor shoud she be........can you just imagine how brutal those two are to be around...yuk....i am rooting for Likisha.....she's got class and her life has been anything but easy...like melinda too....
If Antonella makes top ten, they have lost me too....and I was, addicted...
