I had my baby 2-18-07 and i am just wondering when I should expect them to be healed? I know I should have asked the dr but I wasn't concerned about anything but my baby at that time. All I wanted was to hold her and love her.

6 weeks is how long it takes the uterus to heal and the cervix to close not how long for the stitches. and they desolve. you don't take em out.

it took me 8weeks for it to close but it only took my friend 6weeks so it depends on your body... good luck with your baby girl

The typical healing time for an episiotomy is around 4 to 6 weeks depending on the size of the incision and the type of suture material used to close the wound. (http://www.medicinenet.com/episiotomy/article.htm)

Different sutures dissolve at different rates, but they should be well gone by your 6 wk. check up.

If you really want to know call the office and have them call you back with the answer - that's what they are there for!

Depends on your definition of "heal". The stiches should be removed at a follow up visit, but the "line" will take much longer to "heal". Obviously if there is redness, fever, chills, or drainage that seems to not be going away or getting less copius, you should call your doctor immediatly.

It depends on if you had a c-section or had ur baby naturally, if u had ur baby naturally then it takes 6 weeks and if u had ur baby by c-section it would take 8 weeks and they'd have to remove the stiches unlike when u have it naturally. Enjoy ur new addition!

The stitches can come out now. But your incision won't be healed enough for physical activity for another month.

Congrats !!!
Actually it depends on your cells or your nutrition to heal you soon but normally it takes 4 week !
but i will pray that you will heal soon just in 1 day and carry your baby !!

Have a good life, thanks
