Why are your rap stars rewarded so well for teaching hatred?

Hi English Cad here good to be back in the USA. If I stood on the street corner(sidewalk) calling for people to hate, kill, and abuse others.Would I be thrown in jail, or given millions of dollars? I think some of the record company boss should be ashamed, what do you the good people of America think.

I am not saying it should be banned, thats why we all stand together so we can have free speech. Just take away the reward from these so called stars.Then the kids might see that these fools are just ignorant small mind and hateful

I agree with you. They promote a prison mentality and our younger kids emulate them and either end up in jail or dead. People like Jay-Z, Biggie, 2Pac, while all talented, are known ex drug dealers and now they're admired. So, now some people think that you can sell drugs, go to jail and get out and be a rap star. They're selling pipe dreams, no pun intended.

And rock and country DO NOT promote gun violence, gang violence, drug trafficking, degredation of women and drug use more than rap. That's ridiculous and just another sign of people not being honest with themselves.

I honestly see as much, or more, hate in Rock and Country music as I see in rap. Who is it that the rappers are hating anyway? A lot of the more controversial lyrics in rap aren't an incitement for people to do anything, they are a reflection of what the rapper has experienced. These people grow up in the worst of situations, and sometimes they experience bad things. Sometimes they have to hustle to survive. Its not pretty, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't know it exists. And rappers don't hate white people. Eminem, a white rapper, is one of the most respected people in the hip-hop community.

First of all, why does everyone target rap when every music genre has someone that preaches hate. I listen to pretty much every genre of music and i hear it everywhere. There are a lot of groups out there that are just as bad as these so-called Rappers who teach hate. Let's not single out rap let’s look at musicians as a whole. It’s easy to say rap is bad because the majority of rappers are what....? You tell me? A little hidden racism going on here?

Absolutely right these rap stars preach hate and anti white thoughts freely coz the politically correct in the USA and I dislike the term are such dumb butts about the whole black problem/latino aliens destroying our nation English language spoken here only not spanish and ghetto jibberish crime committed by blacks percentage wise is sky high and these latinos are not great workers in every case rap is garbage and ...well free watermelon and chitlins for all afro/negroes

such legalism with this stuff. You are right this stuff is completely wrong and repulsive. However in America descrimination is so blown out of proportion. If we decided to stop playing rap, we would be sued for racial discrimination (even though that is not the case at all). Messed up I know.

I think...if there's a market for it, it will be produced. We have freedom of speech. It does NOT matter what the speech is. Not everyone is going to like what they hear...but you don't have to buy the CD and you can change the radio station.
