I have a field of newly established bermuda grass and want to remove unwanted weeds and vegetation,and improve the bermuda stand.

Sure you can. Round-Up will not kill bermuda.I have friends in Mississippi who spray thier yards every spring to rid them of weeds.

Roundup will kill everything do not use it. Go to your local nursery, take some of the weeds with you if possible and ask for a selective herbicide that will kill the weeds present but no the grass.

You need to wait until temps are fairly warm. Be very careful with roundup!! It will kill anything, not just where you spray, but anywhere the fine mist lands!

I think that's OK, as long as your bremuda is FULLY dormant, no green ANYWHERE! You may want to check with the manufacturer on that one, though.

You might get some stunting, even with dormant use.

There's different chemicals for that. Don't risk Round-Up! Go to a qualified nurseryman, or call a good Landscape fellow for advice. I'd have to know better what, exactly, you want to kill.

go to your local Lowes or Home Depot and buy a "pre emergent" herbicide. Just ask they will show you exactly what you want.
