why deos my dad hit my mom?

my dad hits my mom if she deosn't want to do something or my mom repremands me or my little brothers. he hits her w/ thing and fhroughs her around a lot. is it elegal? and what can i do to stop it without gettting hit myself?

There are a few reasons why your dad hits your mom.
1. He is at the state of drunk, consume too much alcohol can turn some men to a wild and dangerous behaviour.
2. He is a bad tempered. A man become bad temepered when he could not face a reality e.g when he could not accept any mistake he made.
3. He might be abused during his childhood which the trauma carried all the way in his life. At point of time he may feel he needs to revenge then somebody around him would be a victim.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. Your father abuses your mother because she allows it. Either she feels that something is her fault that's making him do this, which means she has low self esteem or she just doesn't no what to do to get herself out of this situation. You need to talk to your mother and let her know how you feel about your father being abusive. The best way to help your mother if she's not willing to help herself is to call the police the next time you father is beating on her. It's not going to get better, it's only going to get worse. One day he may really get out of control and seriously hurt or even kill her. He needs to be stopped and if she's not willing to make the call then you need to do it. Protect yourself, your mother and your brothers.

What you father is doing is abuse, and it is illegal. You should report it to an adult either at school or with the police. The only problem is if your mother chooses not to press charges against him. To many women are afraid of doing that because they are afraid of the man, they would rather take the abuse then risk something worse happening if they say anything.

Your dad is a coward. Call emergency and report this abuse. Your mother is taking it out on you and your siblings...it's a classic case of the "pecking order".

Call someone in authority to have this dealt with, maybe even a social worker at school, family member....anyone you trust or like I said earlier, call the police (emergency number).
