Yes but the same goes for all hate crime victims. I also think that if a transgender is sent to prison, whether they end up in a female or male prison should be determined by thier mental state not their physical one. Furthermore they should be allowed the hormones they are taking if taking any. Yes they have commited a crime but to force them to live in that body without thier hormones is cruel and unusual. Don't get me wrong, they shouldn't get special treatment or anything. If they commited a crime they should pay for it but tortoring them like that is just wrong.

Gender is not black or white, dispite how much the majority want it to be. People should not be stereotyped into what is typical for their organs. A mind may differ from the body. People see the unusual as wrong. That's only because of instinct. Humans should have evolved beyond prejudice by now. We're not monkeys.
Normal by definition means the majority and studies have shown that only a few people fall under the ideals of 'normal'. So if the a-typical are the majority and therefore normal, why should they be abused by the minority for being abnormal?
I've found that people who are unusual get alot of abuse by the so called 'normal people' and should therefore be protected by law. This message goes out to the truely normal, the a-typical, including but not limited to the Transgendered population.

No. There are already laws in place to protect people from each other. Why do transgenders need separate laws?

Yes. I think there should be a law to protect transgender, gay, lesbian & bisexual. This hate crime has to stop. It's not right to discriminate because of sexuality. A man in Detroit was beaten to death because they thought he was gay. Who cares if if was gay. That is no reason to hurt someone. We are people too!! I know everyone is intitled to their own opion but if you don't agree with the lifestlye fine. But don't go hurt them. I hope action is taken soon.

Dont you thhink that the current laws should just be inforced to protect everyone. The goal is to be treated equal. Special laws do not help that cause.

Yes, there should be.
There should be laws against people who misspell the simplest of words and make them use spell check.

Sure, as they are human beings with a little different from other genders or human beings with more than the other genders, they should be respected innthe community, further people who violates them should be punished.

It would make more sense if they would just enforce the laws that are already in place.
