1. Yes
2. Mainly pain relief for the seriously ill. Glaucoma relief and appetite support is also in there.
3. Sort of.
4. Worse. Caffeine and nicotine don't make you stupid.
5. It doesn't send a great message. Being stoned is a pretty dumb place to be.

1) Yes.
2) Medical marijuana has been proven to be effective in reducing the naseuating effects of chemotherapy treatment, and is also effective in helping stimulate appetite. In addition to this, it has shown itself to be an effective anti-depressant, and since it is all-natural, it doesn't have some of the negative side effects of other pills.
3) Yes.
4) Marijuana, just like anything else (even food) is bad for you if you abuse it, and take it in large quantities. It can cause memory loss, permanent brain damage, and has been linked to other physical and mental problems. Nicotine and Caffeine have shown serious side effects as well, but don't have nearly the primary effect that Marijuana has.
5) I'm not sure what you mean by 'personal use decriminalization' since it is still criminal to possess even tiny quantities of Marijuana. It may be getting more widespread acceptance, since people are actually educating themselves to the benefits and dangers of marijuana both for medical and non-medical use, rather than accepting the rantings of 'reefer madness' types who are convinced that Marijuana causes the user to become psychotic, and makes them go out and rape and kill people. It's also been a long standing myth that Marijuana is a 'gateway drug' which will always lead the user to try harder and harder drugs. The illegal status of Marijuana probably leads a lot of younger users to lose respect for the establishment that lies to them about the effects of marijuana, since when they try it, and don't have any ill effects, they convince themselves that maybe all of the information they've been fed about other drugs might be wrong too.
6) I've never been worried that a stoner was going to kick my a**, but I've had some drunks scare me to death.

My answers:
1. Yes
2. Relieves symptoms of glaucoma (and with some the synthetic drugs don't work), helps those undergoing chemotherapy by alleviating nausea.
3. Yes
4. The government has not allowed long term studies on marijuana-what little we know seems to indicate that it is no worse (and possibly better) than tobacco.
5. No.
6. Just this statement: I researched marijuana use for a class project when I was 16 and have been in favor of legalization since then (40 years). Yet I have never used marijuana myself. Anyone who thinks only potheads want pot legalized is way off the mark.

This is a serious answer
Having been a consumer for many years i can reccomend choof as a great social and private use medication
people who smoke dont drive fast or stupidly unlike legal drink drivers
peole who smoke are less likley to be involved in any violent crimes
alcahol, nicotine, caffine and presciption drugs are all legal
because the government make money from them, not because they think that these things are good for you
As for the youth of the nation the ones that smoke it are less likely to join the armed forces or be fooled by religious or political manipulation another reason for the government to keep it banned
There is really no reason in the world that any government could not produce marijuana cigarettes or pure thc tablets for prescrition and make a good profit from it
They do not do so because they must allow the criminal element of society a way to earn income,,drugs gambling and prostitution
Most of the drugs not grass come to your country curtisey of the goverment anyway
a well known andedote is the one about the cia running drugs out of vietnam to fund the war 30 yrs ago.
i quite believe that it should be legal and it is here where i live
We have a pretty low crime rate and a pretty laid back lifestyle
After years of experience i can say that if you are prone to any type of schizefrenia then you should not smoke it as it will probably trigger an attack or a mood disorder but thats about the only side effect it really has.
Most people who do any research on this subject probably have never smoked or work for the govenment and you end up with those old devil weed promotions that we used to get back in the 60s and 70s
It was legal for hundreds of years as it was used to make sailcloth and rope and it was only outlawed when america intruduced cotton as a national crop circa 1850 or there abouts(a political favour for dupont i think)and thats where your good old corrupt wealthy families come from
If i can be of any help please email me as i would be interested in the outcome of your studies

1. If it allieves suffering, then yes. But distribution needs to be tightly controlled, which is hard to do.
2. Reduces chronic pain.
3. Yes, and I would support a heavy tax and money funded to medical research.
4. It's not as bad as other common drugs such as cigarettes and alcohol. Alcohol is just as bad if not worse.
5. Not a yes/no answer.
6. It's just another drug that can turn a person into a loser. Its such a prevalent and common narcotic these days that if you legalize it, prices will fall, then more people will try it, and more people will throw their lives into the toilet. Will have significant negative impact on societ, I think. This is more of the issue.

I dont know about all these questions up here but I do know that the REAL reason marijuana is not legal is because they cannot tax it. If uncle Sam cant get his cut this its BANNED! I dont think the government gives a damn about any effects it may or may not have on people. They just want their cut of the cash! Hence, medical marijuana. When has anyone EVER overdosed on marijuana??? Damn, I am sounding like a pot head right now so Im gonna wrap this up. Marijuana doesnt hurt people. People hurt people!

1. Yes
2. Pain relief, anti-nausea, relaxation, etc. etc. etc.
3. Yes. The "War on Drugs" is a farce costing taxpayers billions for its singular lack of effectiveness.
4. Caffiene - about the same. Pot is better for you than nicotine and not nearly as addictive. It's better than alcohol, too, in terms of side effects and potential for abuse.
5. No. To the contrary, decrim and/or legalization would send a message to our youth that at long last, our government is coming to it's senses and the constitution and bill of rights is working to ensure personal freedoms.
6. Legalization would hopefully force the powers that be to drop the stance they have adopted making pot out to be some horrifying brain damaging, personality changing, killer plant and promote factual and honest education about both the benefits and potential for misuse. Legalization would reduce crime. If everyone grew their own, no one would need the dealers. Its a weed. It grows everywhere, all over the world. There would be no use for drug cartels.

1. Abstain/Unsure
2. I'm not a doctor.
3. Abstain/Unsure
4. Better for you to a point
5. Abstain/Unsure
6. Compared to cigarettes and alcohol, it's not as bad. But it does have negative side effects. You will likely get people who claim that it doesn't have any and no one has ever died from marijuana. I just know that it can cause pregnancy problems in women and is shown to increase the chance of lung cancer. Saying no one ever died from it is the same thing cigarette companies do. Both sides of this argument fail to do any research on why the other side feels the way they do.

Even though i would never touch the stuff i believe marijuana should be legalized. It has been a proven safe pain killer, and people who smoked it have never died from over dose as far as i know a limit should be put on how much a person could have but could you image if they put a tax on it how much money there could be made to improve schools and other things in need.

i started smoking M.J. and I'm not going to say its the best thing in the world but when I'm not on it i say that it doesn't effect me as much like i don't feel i need it i have stopped smoking before but every time i get wit a girl and then break up i kind of run to it. it substitutes for what i think i need and i know it effects other people like DAT too so i am against it being used medically cause no one should have to need anything to live on wit der life but then again part of da reason i started was because im not suppose to do it so now i wish i never knew about it
