They are not "passing" the responsibility, they are saying men should be EQUALLY responsible! A man who doesn't want children, or doesn't "know" his partner very well, and assumes that the women will "take care of" contraception is the one who is "passing responsibility." Then he gets upset when she tells him she's pregnant, well, what did he expect?! He barely knew her, didn't bother to protect himself, and now blames HER!? Of course, she IS partly to blame, they are both equally to blame, but the problem is the man may want the "right" to walk away from a situation that HE helped create by not knowing his partner very well, and by passing responsibility on to her, and thus being negligent. Again, (as I've said in other answers) the government does not want to pay for that man's negligence, and you can't force a woman to have an abortion, or give up her baby. Yes, they are both responsible, but a woman who decides to keep her baby is accepting that responsibility, the consequence of her negligence, and the government expects a man to do the same. If a woman has an abortion, or gives up the baby, it's a moot point anyway, isn't it? Then NO ONE has to pay. As for STD's BOTH sexes should be equally responsible, and make sure that either a male or female condom is used.
Let me end by saying this: Just because abortion exists, doesn't mean a man should assume that a woman will have one. Life lesson? Men OR women shouldn't have sex, ESPECIALLY unprotected sex, with people you don't know, and aren't in a committed relationship with. Isn't that just common sense?

And your point is? Just taking your last paragraph, rape will never succeed? Are you serious. Ask any woman who has been raped.
EDIT OK, you have explained to me what you really mean. I think the bottom line is we have to accept equal responsibility. You think that most men want to accept responsibility because that is how you are. I hate to ruin your idealism, but there a lot of men who will get out of their responsibility to their children if they can. I do not agree with abortion, I would never have one, that is my choice. But, when two people have sex, even if protected because no protection is 100%, they should be prepared for the consequences, a possible pregnancy. Both are responsible and each should take a part in raising the child, after all it is their child.
And to the poster who wants Sharia law, I doubt it would be accepted, cutting of a hand for stealing.

If Shariah Law was applied to the United States the United States would be a lot better. Insha ALLAH Shariah Law will be applied in Britian as well as the USA. The women and girls who choose to get abortions and the doctors who perform all deserve to suffer in Jahannam in my opinion but that is up to ALLAH where they go.
