We met 2 yrs ago online...and he lived about an hr and a half away then..he moved in with me and my parents because the distance sucked plus my brother just died and he wanted to help me with everything..he also has 2 kids with his ex wife who lives near the area where he used to live they shared custody..he would see them twice a week..well shes an unfit mom as he came to realize because she hasnt had a job for 3 years, has a boyfriend who we found out is a sex offender, and she wanted to move 7 hrs away to top it off....so he is taking her to court for full custody but that means he would have to move back there..we were planning an october wedding plus moving into our own apartment..but now i dont know what to do..should we try to stay together and deal with the distance again?? thanks for helping.

I think you should put your relationship on hold until he sorts his life out and gets a handle on the situation with the kids. The kids' wellbeing are more important right now. Postpone your plans with him.

You could do one of two things, try the distance thing and see how it goes with that, or you could move with him. His children are the most important thing right now if the mother lives with a sex offender.

Filing for sole custody doesn't mean he has to live where heuse to he could file where he lives now that don't make any sense..And a registered sex offender is not suppose to be around kids at all he can be arrested.

Maybe you should move with him if he is that important to you. WHether or not you want to deal with that distance is up to you and him. Ask him what he wants to do.
It may be best to break it off. Sounds like there's a looooot of baggage there that's going to be making you crazy for the rest of your days if you stay with him.
Best of luck.

Can't your fiance get a judge to order her to stay where she's at and not move?
It sounds like it would be beneficial if you and your man would get married, and get a home of your own. Perhaps then he could get his children away from his ex and give them a decent life.
I wish you well!

If you are even considering breaking up with him at this time, then do so. You obviously have no love for this man. He moved in with you when you needed him, and now when he needs you, you want to run? Go ahead run. He deserves better.

that's a lot of baggage to bring into a marriage, i'd be worried more about that than the distance. the distance is no big deal, where there is will there is always a way.

I say yes, he seems to be a good person, moving to be with you, to help you get through your loss...and a strong man who is fighting for his kids. Be there for him, and your relationship..if it's worth is, wait...then get married in October. I think you'll be happy with waiting, eventhough it is hard. I've been there. It seems like you can do it.
