Because if you are a true fan you stick with them wether they win or lose. I hate bandwagon fans, who love a team when they win and then totally abandon them when they lose. I know when the leafs suck (like last night and the night before), but every part of me hopes they win.

Because there is a difference between jumping on the bandwagon and actually being a fan. Those who are bandwagonners stop cheering for them when things aren't going well, whereas real, true fans of the team cheer for them through thick and thin. It's the same deal with every team in the league. Anyone who just cheers for a team because they are winning is a bandwagonner, while those who stick by the same team year in and year out, whether they've had a good year or not, they are the true fans of that team.

True fans stick their their team through the good times and the bad . The so called "Leaf fans" that you see limping are the ones that have sprained an ankle jumping of the wagon.

You stick by your team regardless of how they are doing. I do not like the Leafs, can't stand them but I have always admired their fans. For a team that does so bad year in and year out they have A LOT of loyal fans. You can't ask for more than that. My hat's off to them.

im not a leafs fan but im a bruins fans and its the same situation. when you fall in love with a team you cant think about rooting for another team. when you root for a passionatly root for a team you feel like you connect with the players and would feel horrible if you betrayed them.
thats why

That's what REAL fans do. They keep faith and hope for the best regardless of the outcome of any given game or season.
