I believe most of the royal family speak French fluently or very well. The late Queen Mother was a noted francophile and spoke the language fluently. I read that this was one of the problems Diana had in the early years of her marriage. She felt excluded because the royals would speak French at the dinner table and she didn't understand what they were saying. I don't know if that is actually true (that she didn't understand) - it's just what I read. It does seem to me that learning French is not actually that hard and Diana could easily have caught them up, if nothing else by listening to them. Maybe I'm prejudiced though, because I do love languages.

The Royal family are taught many languages as children so they can be good ambassadors as adults. French is definitely one of them.
Poutine, the royal line does descend from the German Kings of Hanover but Queens Elizabeth's husband is Greek, her father George V was married to a Brit of Austrian descent. So they aren't just German.

you have already asked this question although the respond keeps to be 2 - English and French. Prince Philip additionally speaks those 2 languages and German; thinking the indisputable fact that he went to a German training and on a similar time as the founder of the learning fled Germany as a consequence of the upward push of Nazism (the schoolmaster became into as quickly as Jewish) and regular Gordonstoun, Philip went there as stable. as nicely all his 4 sisters married Germans. The Queen extremely often has a pair of words in diverse languages as does her husband (curiously he does now no longer communicate fluent Greek or Danish) although she is maximum helpful fluent in 2

I remember hearing her giving a speech in French at a public engagement so i would say yes.
She is an educated lady so i would expect her to speak one or maybe two languages, thsi would show good diplomacy on foreign visits.

Yes, when the president of france Chiracque visited GB, she perfectly speaks to him in french with almost no british accent.
And ... she was very well prepared. Big plus for this kind of parliamentary monarchy.
(Et plus, elle peut parle allmande et mon peuple aimez la reine d´angleterre beaucoup. Mais elle ne parle pas allemande en publique)
Ja tommies so geht das hier auf dem Kontinent. 3 Sprachen ist ein Minimum :)
