It sounds to me that it could be a sign of false labor.

Contractions usually start in the lower back and move to the front of the abdomen.

On the other side, if its not false labor: round ligament pain.

Sharp, shooting pains on either side of your abdomen (called round ligament pain) that travel into the groin may result from stretching ligaments that support your growing uterus.

I had similar and it was a mild case of haemaroids (piles) - swollen blood vessels in your bottom. If you have eaten anything spicey it can flare them up. I would go and get it checked out or phone someone just to check though.

I am 35 weeks too with my first - dosn't time go quickly! All the very best.

Time the contractions. If you are having more than 4 an hour, it could be preterm labour. Otherwise, move around, and drink some water, or alternatively lie on your left side for about an hour, if it's real labour none of these things will stop them. If it's false labour, they will stop.

You should call your doctor. It could be braxton hicks or it could be real labor. So call your doctor asap. Good Luck & God Bless !
