Dont listen to a majority of the posters.
I absolutely love Jamaica and the people. I've been to other places in the carribbean, but nobody is as nice as the people of jamaica. In other places, you're treated as a tourist. Only want your money. In jamaica, people are warm and welcoming and treat you like an old friend. But....act like a tourist, and you get treated like one. But as long as you are friendly and show a little respect you wont find a better welcoming. I don't think there is a person on the beach in Negril you can't walk up to and shoot the sh*t with just like they're your next door neighbor.
Some might think less of your country and people, I'm NOT one of them.
*respect*
Will be down in the end of March, can't wait to be there!

I have some very good friends who are jamaican and they are beautiful people. I wish I had the opportunity to visit jamaica. But the prospects are not good. I traveled all over the world when I was in the army and saw a lot of wonderful sights. Its a shame that I probably won't ever see jamaica. Be proud of your heritage.

Well, when I think of Jamaica I remember the sweet, kick-*** gangea (sp?) I smoked from there ages ago--and I have no reaason to believe the quality of your pot has decreased over the years and I think of beautiful beaches, impossibly blue oceans, friendly smilin', tanned & pretty people and, of course, regae (Bob Marley, et.al.)
Sometimes, I am saddened when I remember the poverty I've seen on TV--that upsets me a whole lot! Is that getting any better for y'all over there? I hope so. I would like to help out your economy by coming for a visit, but I have to wait for the lottery or an inheritance or I would also be in the same predicament ;)
