the nature of diesel fuel it dilutes the oil especially when the engie is cold so it might be better to us 15 -30 or higher i us 15- 40 and change the filter each time i change oil my car is just coming up to 1992 thousand miles

useally you would use a hevier wieghted oil for a diesel car such as a 15w40 oil look into it.. your oil won't harm it but may not give the required protection.
