He set up a range of Apartheid foods to be sold in super store in order to bring awareness.
He did some live comedy relief shows, fund raising events, music festivals, dance contests, beauty competitions, went to jail for crimes against authority- wasn't a popular person with UK government etc..... Maggie Thatcher didn't seem to talk highly of him either.
Once he was released UK changed their tune and hailed him a hero to the people etc etc.....
right crock of.... if you ask me.
He may be a good guy etc... but i didnt understand why UK officials were against him saying he wouldn't conform etc etc.. and then within months of release he was on The political A list of people you want to invite to your government/royal event.

Basically he caused trouble by apposing the status quo and then ended up in jail and refused to budge on his principals, so stated in jail longer!.
Please note this is my personal opinion and may not be completely accurate

He was the commander of the military wing of the ANC or what we would now call terrorists - but the winners write the history.
