Algore is a "carbon pig" and you know it. Do you think Americans will give him a pass on his incredible personal energy consumption while he tells the rest of us to make major lifestyle changes? What do you think ?

The fact is that if every American Citizen challenged every statement on which we are required to take action, we'd find that much of the demands are without merit and/or foundation. At least the debate would be opened up to other theories and ideas.

Personally, I don't agree with Al Gore's reasoning or his studies. Why? Because if you will consider the degrees of differentiation of the earth's pitch, you will see that it is tilting as it turns in space. The degree of tilt or revolutional deviance will cause extreme climate changes over millions of years -- the ice age, for example. Additionally, everything that is made or used on earth comes from natural resources currently present on earth and/or is a byproduct of the natural resources. The earth has done an excellent job of keeping its balance without our intervention and by us trying to limit ozone or carbon without understanding the complete and total way that every one of the chemicals interact and work with each other, we are more likely to do more harm than good.

For example, in the 50s and 60s we wanted to limit ozone and therefore we were asked to not use aerosol cans etc. Now, some 20 to 30 years later, we still have global problems but now the hole in the ozone layer is causing other problems. It's kind of like the drugs we approve for human use and then find out 10-15 years later that they do more harm than good.

Global warming is a naturally-occuring phenomenon resulting from the constant turning of the earth, the gravitational pull from other planets, the change in proximity of those other planets, and the increasing tilt of the earth on its axis so that the equator eventually becomes the north and south poles and the north and south pole become the equator. No matter what we do, short of somehow stopping the earth from tilting at all, this repositioning will occur. If we manage to stop the earth, who knows what will happen?

God doesn't make junk. The earth is not junk. The earth has been here billions of years before us and there is evidence of advanced societies being found -- like the Incas and the Egyptians and some of the other discoveries so I believe we can safely count on the earth being here billions of years after we're gone. Everything has an evolutionary cycle. Evolution simply means that whatever is here adapts to the changing circumstances and environment. Maybe we should learn to adapt and stop trying to control everything.

How many times will you ask this question before you actually research your answer? Al Gore has been an avid environmentalist for more years than you have probably been alive. Why would he spend all that time on something he believes isn't true? What kind of science degree do you have? What evidence to refute him? Unfortunately in this world the ability to travel and educate others involves the use of energy consumption. Gore is more than aware of this. However, he also realizes that in the big picture having to be HUMAN and waste some energy is worthwhile if he can educate others about the dangers of environmental waste - if he and others cannot do this, then the chances of maximizing our energy risk increase.

Seriously, PC, have you actually watched the movie, read the books, or researched global warming... or is this just your favorite soapbox? Gore is a smart man. If he didn't care and he didn't know he'd stay out of environnmental science and take a permanent vacation on Fiji somewhere. You hear only what you want to hear. Gore is not screaming about the world ending in two years - this is what those who do not understand global warming in the least keep repeating to convince themselves and others the man has no real merit. Until you know more and come back with a well thought-out response to his research, undermining the man simply sounds childish.

*Bush's answers have no validity. Gore is not so dumb that he isn't aware of the allegations made against his studies. However, if you READ and research, you will find that the points Bush makes have nothing to do with what is occurring in reality in regard to global warming. Gore never said anything about us freezing to death or never having hurricanes. This is simply propaganda utilized so as not to actually understand his message. Again, whatever your parents are telling you is one thing, but I advise you have your own mind and study it for yourself.

No. Smart Americans don't believe Al Gore.

Gore is spreading lies about global warming.

Mr. Al Gore's movie left out these facts:
1) 6,000 years ago, the earth was hotter than it is today. 6,000 years is less than a second when compared with the age of the earth.

2) Temperatures dropped in the 1950's and 1990's when CO2 levels were increasing.

3) 140,000 years ago the earth had record CO2 levels and there were no gasoline powered cars.

4) 20,000 years ago, Canada was one big ice cube and half of the U.S. was covered with Ice. The grand canyon was formed by melting ice ages over 20 million years.

5) The temperature of the Earth has only increased by 0.65 of a degree in the last 110 years. There were faster increases in temperatures around 10,000 years ago and there were no gasoline powered cars during that time

6) The theory has not been scientifically proven. Scientists who disagreed with the theory were not invited to contribute to Al Gore's movie nor were they invited to the conference about global warming.

7) NASA has said that great temperature changes are normal. Just 10,000 years ago, the earth warmed up extremely in less than 20 years. There were not many people around at that time.
NASA:
"Rapid changes between ice ages and warm periods (called interglacials) are recorded in the Greenland ice sheet. Occurring over ONE OR TWO DECADES, the warming of the Earth at the end of the last ice age " http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Study/Paleoclimatology_Evidence/Images/gisp2_temperature.gif

8) NASA scientific data has shown most of the changes of temperature are due to changes in the Sun. Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all have global warming right now

9) Also, strong hurricanes are normal. Hundreds of years ago, they used to sink ships off of the coast of Florida

How would I know that? Because a right-wing "think tank" that's not even recognised as a legal entity by anyone in the world says so?

Gore is doing better work than any out-of-office republican has EVER done. He's being swiftboated.

Most Americans are too concerned with 3000 dead U.S. troops and the possibility that Bush will start another war, to give a crap.
