There has NEVER been a scientifically documented case of anyone showing true psychic ability.

There have been plenty of hoaxes and plenty of so-called "psychics" who claim they've been "tested" - but when you dig a little, the "tests" are not done in a true scientific, double-blind method.

Want further proof? James Randi (www.Randi.org) has offered ONE MILLION DOLLARS to anyone who can demonstrate psychic abilities under documented, scientific testing conditions.

If anyone reading this is truly a psychic, click here to claim your $1,000,000 prize:

Most so-called psychics simply throw out a lot of educated guesses: "I sense someone in the room has lost a loved one..."
Well... duh. Who hasn't, even if it's a great-grandparent?

Then comes a little "refinement" by saying something like, "I'm sensing a name starting with T, or maybe M..."

Ever watch "Wheel of Fortune" on TV? Throw out enough common letters, and eventually you'll get a hit.

There are a lot of ways "psychics" trick people. Sadly, some people may actually think they are psychic - but in this case, they're only tricking themselves.

A good book on this subject is Michael Shermer's "Why People Believe Weird Things." Shermer discusses "psychic readings" extensively in this book, and I highly recommend it:

Unfortunately, this post is going to upset a lot of people, including many who actually may think they're psychic. I would challenge anyone who is offended by this to first go pick up your million dollars from James Randi, THEN come back here and flame away.

I guess you don't watch television such as a show called Psychic Detectives. It's a detective show of crimes solved using psychics. Also look into Remote Viewing. Where these people get their information from is still unclear. And yet they have proved themselves to be useful in solving certain crimes. In the Movie; White Noise it was the deceased which would help solve their own crimes. The DVD movie release of Suspect Zero uses remote viewing and has some additional information about it's use by the government originally to psychically spy on the Russians during the cold war.

I’m as cynical as most anyone I’ve met and a definite “show me” kinda person, but I’ve met real psychics. I’ve had psychic readings that were not so good, and some right on. I’ve done Tarot readings on people with dramatically accurate results. One was good enough to see in detail a conversation on the other side of the state, though that was only once. Unfortunately I’m not developed enough to declare myself psychic, but I can tell you they are out there. And if any of the cynics out there had done the research out there they’d understand why it’s so difficult to prove. And yes there HAVE been scientifically proven psychics, but the real ones willing to put themselves through all that are so few and far between it goes largely unstudied.

WE are real; the ones getting paid $200 an hour are the phonies.

Accepting money is against the psychic karma unless it's enough to survive on.

I'm positive there are real ones and I'm also positive that none of the real ones are on tv or those 900#s that, in my opinion are just frauds and scam naive people out of money

Like for example...a close relative of mine called one of those because she believed in them (remember I did say naive, so these are very trustful of everybody types) and when asked for her birthday she gave it and later during the conversation, the so called psychic tells her, her age and zodiac sign and she gets all excited until I point out to her well they asked you for your birth date at the beginning of the call so anybody could tell you that info about yourself....

I don't think that psycics are real. "Psycics" who ask for money are fake and shouldn't be used by the police!!!!
