I have tried to bite off a bump when I was a kid... I remember that it was bleeding and hurting a lot, but still it was not off. So I can say that they are also stubborn...

I hate em too. When my wife gets them I tell her they are "lie bumps"... which makes me wonder if you been telling fibs too.
Not to worry, couple days they go away.
