Well, I am no expert, but I am a Licensed Cosmetologist/Nail Tech/Instructor. And I have taught a Nail program for about 4 years.
And the trend has always been really nice pink and whites. And the trend seems to be moving to Gel nails more. Mainly because the Gel nails are becoming as sturdy as the Acrylics and they are prettier, easier to maintain, and faster for most techs. to apply.
Beyond that, I am going to say any kind of nail art. Especially the colored acrylics and gels. You can get flowers or other types of things shaped with the colored stuff and even scenes. And the biggest quick art trend is colored or glittered tips or a line between the white and the pink in a color or glitter. Those are most common. Also, using regular acrylic poster paint to paint designs on the nails is sometimes a big thing, or attaching things to the nails, like feathers, gems, all kinds of things. One thing I get alot requests for is piercing. I use a drill with a small bit and drill a hole, then insert a silver or gold ring into the whole. Young kids really love it. I mean like teenagers. Especially cheerleader types and so forth.
There you go. Just one teachers experience.
But, really nationally. Anything goes. There is no end, just your imagination.

I'm a guy, and personally, I don't like long nails. I know a lot of like very long, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.

A little bit of toenail is fine... but I agree along with you. Long nails are kinda low.

shiny neon colours!! in particular nonetheless I in basic terms see those with their french manicures and such, no coloration. yet you may deffinately perform a little seasonal colours. i admire neon. solid success!!
