Is it a good thing that they will get back together- can we expect a 'best of' tour, or will they do new material? and should we really be bothered?

Well, I'm surprised to hear that it's going to be the biggest grossing tour of 2007... I agree that it's great for the older musicians to keep at it, great music doesn't age... these guys though, they're regrouping after over 20 years apart... it's got to be for the cash. Yes, they have some undeniably great songs... outside the singles collection things were not all that peachy.

Anyway, that's my opinion... but let's let this thing slide to the vote to decide who gets the points :)

There was a great deal of personal animosity between these musicians and Sting swore they would never play together again. The baby boomers though have created a huge lucrative market for classic rock band reunion tours and so MONEY TALKS.

The Police Tour is projected to be the highest grossing tour of 2007 so the Police decided to give it a go.

I've listened to some of the old stuff and there are vintage Police videos to watch ... it's pretty good stuff. I don't think personally I'd pay $200 to see them now though.

The Police are arguably one of the best bands ever. In a time when emo and rap are embraced by all my class mates I'm extremely happy a band that's actually good will be playing again. KIng of Pain is a top song of theirs and I can't see the tour being bad as long as they paly that song. It's not as htough sting hasn't sung in years he's been steady and the tour should be great.

I dont think they will be doing any material, its gonna be a best of tour, with a few songs thrown in that you might not know unless you have all the Police records. Me, I'm thrilled. I'm only 25, but I got into them when I was 13. One of the first bands I ever got into, when I found a cassette tape of theirs on accident. There is still life in them, they arent that old. I cant wait to see them. If youre a fan, youll be excited. If you only listen to teenage pop music, you wont be excited.

Your man Sting is reputedly worth £87 million pounds and I don't think Stuart Copeland is short of a few bob (i believe he is a film producer) don't know about the other one so they won't be getting any money off me! Its bound to be a best of tour with maybe 2 new songs so they can peddle a greatest hits LP

I'm personally glad that the aging rockers are at it again, all of them. It goes to show that the newer bands can't put out enough relevant music to keep the people happy.
