Since Dylan was only 6 in 1947 you've probably seen a spoof news programme.
Then again some one may invent time travel in the future and send Dylan songs back in time so that George Formby has discovered and recorded them. However since they were so much in advance of their time they didn't sell well and are gathering dust somewhere, waiting to be discovered by someone who will invent a time machine and send Dylan songs back in time so that George Formby has discovered and recorded them. That was on "The Day Today" last night, wasn't it? Seeing as anything to do with The Day Today/Brass Eye is satirical, I think you'll find it was a joke. Made me laugh though, especially the footage of George Formby "singing" Subterranean Homesick Blues.

It's a spoof from BBC's show The Day Today; that's what they do on that programme. Hunt down the DVD and have a good laugh. Also get Brass Eye..

Yes Gary Sparrow gave them to george as he can time travel he claimed he wrote the songs.
