I read he will be back on the show March 8th as a wisecracking ghost and will be around for the foreseeable future.

Stuart Damon was fired from the show after being on it for 30 years. I don't think the reason was revealed. You could try the Message Boards on the ABC website.

I don't know for sure, but I read somewhere they gave him walking papers. Just when it was starting to get good, Jason coming back into the Quatermaine picture and everything. Stuart (Alan) will be missed.

There wasn't a actually reason. If it was to piss of fans...it worked. If it was to piss of GH stars...it worked. He'd been on there 30 years and was just backburner, no reason to get rid of him.

He's probably terminal or too old to work anymore.Maybe he retired.That's usually when they get killed off on the show.
